Lowrance has pulled the wraps off its latest must-have for serious anglers: the Ghost X 47-inch trolling motor. Purpose-built for fresh water, the Ghost X brings a suite of upgrades, including a sharper precision directional indicator, a 20 percent bump in thrust, and the quietest motor the company has ever produced.

Jeremiah Clark, vice president and general manager of fishing systems at Navico Group, summed up the release. “We are excited to launch the all-new Ghost X 47-inch trolling motor, adding another powerful tool to the Ultimate Fishing System. The Ghost X was designed with direct input from customers, allowing us to make meaningful improvements based on their needs. It offers unmatched positioning accuracy, greatly enhanced power, and intuitive control. Paired with Lowrance’s top-tier sonar technology, this all-encompassing system allows anglers to eliminate distractions and concentrate solely on what matters most—catching fish.”

Key Features of the Lowrance Ghost X Trolling Motor

From the ground up, the Ghost X was engineered to keep anglers locked in on their targets. A redesigned directional indicator boosts accuracy and visibility for both sonar and motor orientation, while new raised chevrons give the unit a clean, high-contrast look that’s easy to see from any spot on the deck.

Power is another headline feature. With a thrust increase of 20 percent over the original Ghost, the new model muscles through heavy weed beds and strong currents, all while maintaining a near-silent operation that won’t spook fish.

Control options have expanded, too. The motor can be steered via its integrated foot pedal or any compatible multifunction display using NMEA 2000® networking. At press time, an optional GPS remote was to become available in Q3 of this year that lets anglers fine-tune positioning from anywhere onboard. The pocket-sized remote adds a handy Cruise Control button to hold speed over ground, and a slim LED light ring keeps tabs on operating mode, pairing status, and battery life at a glance.

Sonar capability remains front and center. Every Ghost X ships with an Active Imaging 3-in-1 nosecone, and the motor is fully compatible with Lowrance ActiveTarget 2 mounting brackets for live sonar viewing. For existing Ghost owners, the precision indicator can also be retrofitted via an upgrade kit available through Lowrance’s service centers.
