Patrone 45 Convertible First Look: Gozzo Style, IPS Power
The Patrone 45’ Convertible takes the traditional Ligurian gozzo somewhere it rarely goes: on extended Mediterranean cruises, with the comfort to stay aboard for days at a time. The new flagship from the Italian shipyard made its world debut at the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival, where it drew strong interest from visitors and boating professionals alike.
Bright, functional, and contemporary design marks this reinterpretation of the gozzo. Patrone’s builders still kept the distinctive character that sets every boat from the yard apart.

What Is the Patrone 45’ Convertible?
The 45’ Convertible marks the latest step in an evolution the Moreno family started in 2022 with the Patrone 100 and continued in 2024 with the Patrone 45’ Open. With those two models, the shipyard preserved the Mediterranean identity of the gozzo while introducing new ways to enjoy life on board and a sharper focus on quality of life at sea.
The Convertible carries that approach to its natural conclusion: a more evolved cruising concept, designed to explore the Mediterranean with greater freedom and comfort, and with more time to enjoy the sea. At 45.9 feet overall, it pairs the gozzo’s classic sheer with Volvo Penta IPS 600 pod drives and joystick control. Owners who know the workboat-bred lines of a Hinckley Picnic Boat 39 or the boats in our Downeast buyer’s guide will recognize the kinship.
MOSTO Red: A Hull Color Rooted in Liguria
For the first hull, Patrone chose MOSTO red, an intense shade inspired by the culture of the grape harvest and the Ligurian vineyards that overlook the sea.
“Born from an owner’s request and developed by the shipyard as an expression of our strong commitment to customization, MOSTO reflects the brand’s connection with its home territory and the Mediterranean, enhancing the lines of the hull with a warm, elegant and distinctive color accent,” says Benedetta Moreno, brand manager at Patrone.

How Is the 45’ Convertible Laid Out?
Patrone devoted particular attention to materials, fabrics, and finishes, creating a sophisticated yet authentic environment. The spaces adapt to different moments of the day, combining elegance, a distinctive nautical character, and versatility in a welcoming and dynamic setting.
For the first time on a Patrone, the galley moves below deck. That frees the main deck for the saloon and a dinette with 360-degree seating that shifts from dining table to aperitif spot to extra berth. Two cabins — a master with a double berth and a VIP with twin berths that join into a double — sleep four, and the dinette adds two more. Tommaso Spadolini designed the interiors in pickled and whitewashed oak, dressed in Rubelli fabrics.
In the cockpit, owners can choose a central sofa that converts to a second sunpad or perimeter seating that leaves the center open for fishing. The cruising package includes a Quick X13 gyro stabilizer (another Patrone first), a watermaker, two 12,000-BTU Frigomar air-conditioning units, a 14-kW Paguro generator, and a Besenzoni electro-hydraulic gangway.
Still deciding between a day boat or a cruiser? The 45’ Convertible makes a strong case for having both in one hull. Explore more of the international builders shaping the market, or visit Patrone for the full range.
