Highfield Boats | Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) Preview
Highfield Boats launched its Vortex series of Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIB) in spring 2024, and the first model is the jet drive-powered Velox 420 (13′ 11″ LOA, 6′ 9″ beam). Paired with a 90-hp BRP Rotax 903 ACE engine and CAT exhaust, the RIB tops out at 38 mph. The boat features Highfield’s signature aluminum hull and durable heavy-duty tubes with the entire vessel backed by a two-year warranty. The Velox 420 is designed for speed and agility, ideal for both recreational boating and water sports enthusiasts. Buyers can add options, including a roll bar, bimini top, and sound system. Expected to retail for around $35,000, the Velox 420 will be one of the most affordable RIBs in the 14-foot range. highfieldboats.com
