“Growing up in a second-generation family business is both a privilege and a responsibility,” says Sea Tow Services International president Kristen Frohnhoefer. “When I say I ‘bleed Sea Tow yellow,’ it reflects the deep sense of pride and connection I feel toward the company my family built.” Frohnhoefer took over the role in 2015 after her father, Sea Tow founder Captain Joseph Frohnhoefer, passed away. She grew up in the business, which provides on-water assistance and towing service to boaters. “I’ve had the unique opportunity to learn not only the business itself but also the values, work ethic, and commitment to service that define it,” Frohnhoefer says. “Carrying that legacy forward means honoring the foundation laid by the generation before me while continuously evolving the organization for the future.” For membership information, visit seatow.com.

Sea Tow has grown significantly under your leadership. What are your priorities when steering the company forward?

When my brother Joe and I assumed leadership of Sea Tow following our father’s passing in 2015, our priority was to honor the legacy he built while positioning the company for long-term growth. Over the past decade, we’ve focused on diversifying Sea Tow’s offerings and refining our membership programs. Looking ahead, our priorities remain centered on innovation, expansion, and service. We will continue to broaden our membership and operational offerings while evolving to meet the needs and expectations of the next generation of boaters.

Talk about the Sea Tow Sea Care six-month program.

The Sea Tow Sea Care program is designed to give boaters greater confidence on the water by providing the reassurance that a U.S. Coast Guard–licensed Sea Tow Captain is always ready to assist should the unexpected occur. For boaters, the value is simple and meaningful: They begin their ownership journey with trusted support already in place.

Share any new programs or services in the pipeline.

In addition to my role at Sea Tow Services International, I am honored to serve as president of the Sea Tow Foundation. Since 2008, the Foundation has distributed more than 100,000 life jackets and established over 1,300 Life Jacket Loaner Stations nationwide. More information is available at boatingsafety.com.
