Discover the Palm Beach GT60: A Yacht That Drives Like a Porsche

The Palm Beach GT60 is classically cool and unapologetically practical.

Palm Beach Motor Yachts announced at the Newport International Boat Show this past September that a new 107-foot model was in production. “I never would have thought thirty years ago I’d be building one-hundred-seven footers,” said Mark Richards, founder, CEO, and chief designer of Palm Beach Motor Yachts. It confirms how he and the GB Marine Group have reached perfection in design and construction techniques. It clearly shows in Palm Beach’s coveted GT60.

Her style and modern, sporty profile remain a favorite in the GT line since the first owner cruised over to the Bahamas immediately after the Miami International Boat Show. For 2025, the GT60 will debut with jet drive propulsion for a new owner who plans to get up close to the multitude of sounds, rivers, and islands of coastal Maine, and to avoid all those lobster traps.

“With the GT60 Jet Drive, we’ve kept the engines amidships, where they belong to maximize the ride, and they are coupled to the jets with carbon fiber shafts,” said Richards. “The weight distribution is precise.”

Want to go long distances but not sure where to start? Lots of Nordhavn owners feel the same way. They...

The new model is powered by twin 1,000-hp Volvo Penta D13 diesel engines with Hamilton HJ403 waterjets. This high-performance system delivers exceptional power and maneuverability with Hamilton’s AVX controls that provide a smooth, rapid acceleration while reducing drag and fuel consumption, not to mention the minimal draft for shallow waters.

Fit and Finish

The GT60 is as comfortable as it is beautiful. Her styling is an object lesson in the virtues of clean, uncluttered design—sharp and flowing lines, graceful curvature, smooth and highly durable surfaces, and a defining elegance.

The interior design is based around a lower deck floorplan that features two spacious ensuite staterooms with queen walkaround berths and an atrium-style galley that offers an open-air feel with light and ventilation so the chef won’t feel isolated from the rest of the group.

The galley below opens up space in the salon for a dedicated entertainment area and provides room for a walkaround helm station. Dressed in carbon fiber, the helm commands twin Volvo Penta IPS 950S diesels (or the D13s with the water jets) that can reach speeds of 34 knots. The yacht reaches nearly 40 knots with the optional Volvo Penta IPS 1350 engines. Word is, she drives like a Porsche.

The cockpit is the place to be, especially at anchor, as it offers an entertainment area to relax and access to a sizable swim platform when the mood strikes for jumping in or having a cocktail with your feet dangling in the water. A large L-shaped lounge extends near full-beam across the transom, and a beautiful teak table makes for a lovely dinner spot. A wet bar/entertainment center on each side of the salon door is in the perfect area to serve both the cockpit and the salon, and the large salon rear wall window on the port side opens down, hiding between the wet bar and salon aft settee to meld the interior and cockpit together.

From the cockpit, walkways allow entry to the bow, and the transom door provides access to the swim platform where the GT60 hides one of its great features—a tender garage with custom launch rails for a 10-foot hard-bottom inflatable with engine.

Built upon the proprietary V-WARP technology, the Palm Beach GT60 offers a clean running surface for owners to experience a smoother, more efficient ride that requires minimal energy and effort to reach planing speeds. In other words, she may drive like a Porsche, but she has all the comforts of home in a chic, modernistic yacht.
