20 Power Catamarans Of 2024 To Delight Any Cat Afficionado
In the past five years, except for pontoon boats, no segment of boating has grown faster than power catamarans. It’s no surprise given their inherent benefits, including more living space, enhanced privacy in accommodations, system redundancy, easy driving, and better fuel economy at a time when the fuel dock can really put a dent in our wallets. Cats are more stable under way and at rest, so you are less fatigued, and their shallow draft takes them into waters off-limits to many monohulls. New brands of powercats are popping up and existing designs are getting posh face-lifts and added amenities. Here are 20 new power catamarans for 2024 that should be on your short list to check out if you believe that a monohull is only half a boat.
Four Winns TH36
French-owned builder Four Winns launched a new range of outboard-powered catamarans starting with the TH36. This large bowrider (38′ 5″ LOA, 14′ 7″ beam) is a Marc Lombard design with sleek lines and a “suspended” hardtop that seems to defy gravity. The dual console design places the helm to starboard with a companion seat to port and a walk-through windshield center. Twin dinettes, an outdoor galley, and plenty of modular sunbed space (both forward and aft) create comfortable on-deck living. Fifteen guests can easily separate into small groups between the aft and forward cockpits. Two ensuite cabins below tempt you to take this fun cruiser out for the weekend. Power is provided by twin 300-hp outboards upgradeable to 350s and with 144 gallons of fuel, this swanky runabout can stretch her legs. Price: Inquire, fourwinns.com
