Cobia hulls are designed for peak running performance, comfort and efficiency. Forward bow entries extend running surfaces to utilize nearly the full length of the boat, meaning a more stable and comfortable rude,

Intuitive Layouts

Deck layouts depend on the model, but all are designed as ‘smart layouts’, which means spacious decks, items within reach, and intuitive layouts. This all lends nicely to watersports or fishing, as does the ample freeboard. Helm and dash vary from by model,  but all electronics and inputs are clearly labeled as such, making upkeep and maintenance a breeze.

Take the Cobia 320CC, for example. 320 CC is a spacious fishing platform with a range that can still be easily trailered to fishing tournament locations or inland lakes. Twin 35-gallon pressurized livewells, more than enough tackle storage, and holders for more than 20 rods mean you’ll be ready when you reach the long-distance fishing grounds where the big ones are biting.

See how Cobias set themselves apart in construction, quality assurance, and performance, in their expansive video gallery with videos on everything from exactly how we laminate our boats (No Wood!), to the proper layout for a family friendly center console to detailed model walkthroughs. Cobia Season in the Mid-Atlantic

It’s Cobia Season!

Cobia season is underway in the mid-Atlantic and runs through September 30th in Maryland and Virginia and through December 31st in North Carolina. The minimum size in Maryland is 40 inches with a daily catch limit of one per person per day or three per vessel.

Virginia has the same regulations except that only one fish can be larger than 50 inches. The minimum size in North Carolina is 36 inches with a daily catch limit of one per person/vessel per day; for-hire boats can possess up to four cobia per day.

The Peninsula Salt Water Sport Fisherman’s Association based in Newport News, Virginia, has joined forces with the Old Dominion University Alumni Association to host the Monarch Cobia Classic July 19-21. The tournament will be hosted at the Yacht Club at Marina Shores, and organizers are hoping to make it the largest cobia tournament on the Atlantic coast.

First prize for the largest cobia will be $10,000 with cash prizes through the fifth place ($1,000). The tournament benefits the Old Dominion Alumni Association scholarship fund and Virginia Institute of Marine Science research. Anglers and non-anglers can enjoy the tournament awards and dock party Saturday evening.

Cobia 261 CC

The Cobia 261 CC is the latest offering from Cobia and puts a premium on style, fishing performance, and family comfort. The 261 CC (26’1″ LOA, 9’3″ beam) is ideally proportioned with every inch maximized. The boat has plenty of cockpit space (83.5 total square feet), whether behind the deluxe tackle station with premium helm seating or in front of the forward entry console with huge step-down head area. Split bow seating with optional forward-facing backrests allows for access all the way forward to chase those big ones that head for the horizon or to easily retrieve the anchor, and the deck is level from stem to stern.

Additional smart, practical features include trouble-free access to the batteries under the helm seats and a huge bilge entry door that lifts electronically with the touch of a button. All hardware is backed with laminate plates, and there is generous bilge access with electric lift assist. The easily deployed rear bench seat makes converting from a fishing machine to a party boat as easy as stowing the rods in the ample rod storage. Powered by twin Yamaha 150-hp outboard engines, the Cobia 261 CC runs to a top speed of 50 mph.
