Tiara 48 LS

Special Delivery

The Tiara 48 LS is a sport boat and a yacht all in one.

The Tiara 48 LS is a hybrid, but not in the way you may think. The clue is in the name—LS—which stands for “Luxury Sport” and sets expectations from the start. This flagship of Tiara’s outboard series is a dialed-in combination of a fast express boat that drives like a demon and a plush yacht that can go weekending like boats 10 feet longer. It’s also a blend of a bowrider and a center console so it’s a complex boat deserving of a serious walkthrough.

Power Package

The 48 LS is the largest in Tiara’s four-model LS series, and it was designed around the intended propulsion package which includes triple 600-hp Mercury Verado outboards. These enormous V12 engines have the groundbreaking feature of pivoting lower units. They also integrated electro-hydraulic steering that leaves the “well” clear so there are no tripping hazards at the transom, just a clear teak deck.

The three engines deliver a top speed of 50 knots. You’ll get halfway there in only nine seconds. At 4,500 rpm and a 37-knot cruise, you can expect to enjoy a 362-mile range. That’s impressive given that the 48 LS with full fuel and water tanks comes in around 30,000 pounds, and the best part of the propulsion package is that it’s whisper-quiet.

Step Aboard

Just looking at the 48 LS from the dock, there’s so much to unpack. First, there are the sleek lines, the low hardtop, the open bow, the considerable cockpit, the integrated summer galley, and the circular track on the cockpit sole that promises an extra surprise.

Step aboard via the starboard hull door (also the perfect dive door) and you’ll land right at the heart of the boat—the generous lounge. A crescent-shaped settee faces aft while a straight double seat faces forward; they are separated by a high-gloss-finish folding table.

The first reveal is that the backrests of the aft seats swing forward creating an expansive sunbed aft. Next, at the touch of a button, the entire sunbed/seating assembly begins to rotate until it swings 90 degrees facing the port side. Now it gets really interesting. The aft quarter of the hull side hinges down to create a drop terrace that not only offers enticing access to the water, it also significantly expands the available deck space. With the terrace open, the lounge rotated, and a cocktail being made in the galley, the ambience is very yachty.

Speaking of the galley, the chef is right in the middle of the social action but also protected by the wide hardtop above. A sink, refrigeration drawers, and a Kenyon grill provide all the tools needed to cater an impressive dinner party. There’s even a fold-out jump seat here for those who like to hang out in the “kitchen,” chatting with the cook.

A Center Console, of Sorts

The LS 48 could be called a center console in that the helm is on the centerline and you can get to the bow around both sides. The truth is that you’ll want to take the side deck to starboard which is clear, has high gunwales, and includes a nice handhold all the way forward. The port side has an elevated deck so technically, you can also walk forward via this side, but you’ll be hanging onto the hardtop as you go. The decks were made symmetrical in order to create more room in the cabin below. (More on this later.)

If the aft lounge is busy, come up to the bow where eight people can socialize comfortably. A triple lounge seat with armrests and an electric footrest faces forward, and it’s sure to be the much fought-over spot. More seating is provided via the wraparound bow lounge. The whole area is tied together with a table that levitates from the sole.

Helm Station

If the cockpit is the heart of the yacht, then the helm station is the brain. Triple seats are tucked under the hardtop with a tempered glass windshield and three opening hatches above to let in fresh air at anchor or under way. If you want to keep the elements out completely, just slide the doors on both sides closed and lower the rolling Isinglass curtain aft.

The wheel is centered on the dash with the Mercury throttle controls to starboard. Triple Garmin MFDs (two 16-inch and one impressive 22-inch in the center) deliver not only navigation information but data on just about everything on the boat including the optional Seakeeper 6 gyrostabilizer. When it comes to docking, it’s easy to step out to starboard, grab a line, hop through the dive door and onto the dock. With this setup, managing a 48-foot yacht becomes child’s play.

Accommodations

No yacht is complete without accommodations. The 48 LS has a luxurious interior with a centerline island berth, a full head with a separate shower, a flat-screen TV, and a second cabin with double berths aft. Couples with kids or occasional guests will lack for nothing whether going diving for the day or cruising on a three-day fall foliage outing.

It’s hard to pin the Tiara 48 LS down as one thing or another, and that’s good. She’s a sport boat and a yacht, a bowrider and center console, a day boat and a weekender, and an entertainer and a performer. She’s a lot, but she’s not having an identity crisis. She just delivers on every level, so if you have high expectations and varied needs, put the Tiara 48 LS on your short list.

Intrepid Powerboats Rendezvous

Party at the Reef

When a single Intrepid powerboat is encountered on the open waters or at a marina, it turns heads for its hand-crafted customization and industry-leading innovation. So, it’s little wonder that a gathering of dozens of Intrepids created a buzz in the Florida Keys. This celebration saw the Intrepid Nation take over the Ocean Reef Club for their 2022 Owners Rendezvous.

It was a special weekend for Intrepid owners at the exclusive island resort club because of all the activities that were planned and hosted by Intrepid President Ken Clinton, Vice President of Sales Alex Rizo, and Vice President of Customer Support Joe Brenna. Expectations grew as owners and their guests reached the resort club, whether through the channel markers to the world-class private marina or by car along impeccably manicured grounds. It wasn’t hard to feel that this was an exceptional gathering spot for an Intrepid family weekend. Although the Ocean Reef Club is a private membership community, Intrepid Powerboats arranged the rendezvous in this location for owners to feel the true meaning of what their boats stand for—a one-of-a-kind experience.

Intrepid Powerboats is a family unlike any other with members linked through the satisfaction of going through the one-on-one design process that makes each boat as individual as the owner. The Intrepid Owners Rendezvous brings friends and families together to celebrate their shared pride in owning such a personalized performing vessel. Festivities started with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, entertainment, and a big welcome at the resort club’s Marlin Beach. The party continued the next day with a sandbar raft-up at Billy’s Point where 26 Intrepids tied side-to to create an awesome backdrop for those floating and swimming in the warm waters. Joining the crowd was the all-new 41 Valor. The new model was inspired by owner suggestions for twin Mercury 600 or triple Yamaha 425 engines, a larger cockpit, increased fuel capacity, and a wider beam. It showed how owner input drives Intrepid’s new boat innovation. That evening, the White Dinner Party on Lagoon Beach was a nice end to a wonderful day on the water.

Saturday had so many activities it was hard to choose just one, from tennis and pickleball to golf, SCUBA diving, and kayaking to just relaxing at the pool or spa. Needless to say, it was an active lead-up to the celebratory Havana Nights Dinner Party where tropical night-on-the-town outfits adorned the dance floor. With the abundance of fun, water, and adventures during sun-soaked days and starlit nights, Intrepid Nation, without a doubt, had the time of their lives. intrepidpowerboats.com

Pursuit OS 445

In Pursuit of a Day on the Water

There’s nothing wrong with taking time out of the office to go for a boat ride, is there? Okay, what if it’s for work? It doesn’t happen all the time, but Southern Boating’s marketing director, Brandon Ferris, and I took a quick flight over to Tampa to get a look at and take a ride on the brand new OS 445, Pursuit’s new flagship model in their Offshore series and their largest model built to date.

We were standing on the dock when Hull #1 pulled up, and its profile was strong and balanced, yet had a flair of elegance with a baby blue hull, a large molded hull-side frameless window, and a sleek, fully enclosed cabin that hinted there was a lot going on inside. That all came to fruition when we stepped on board.

Before we even went inside, it was apparent that the cockpit was built so anglers had plenty of room to cast and catch and entertaining was key with an aft-facing mezzanine seat that had a USB charging port, stereo remote, and A/C vents, a molded entertainment center with electric grill, a folding transom seat with extra thick cushions, a removable cockpit table, and a transom that hid under its lid a hot- and cold-water sink, cutting board, with a 75-gallon insulated refrigerator/freezer to starboard and a lighted, recirculating livewell with acrylic window to port. I told you there was a lot going on.

The enclosed cabin was a big development part of this project due to the fiberglass windshield setup, the opening side window configuration, the aft window and door openings, and the fiberglass structure. Pursuit didn’t want to use Isenglass or canvas to enclosed the helm and salon area, so it was a challenge to marry the structural components, but it turned out beautifully solid and luxurious.

As you can see, the goal on this boat was to fully enclose this bridge yet maintain the flexibility to have it open. The structural design allows for level access between the cockpit and the cabin, and with the galley, salon area, and helm seating on one level, everyone can be part of the conversation.

A full galley with 240V dual burner glass cooktop, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, Corian countertop provides all the gear for the chef. And for the captain, a Stidd electrically operated helm seat along with a Zipwake trim system, bow thruster joystick, and the Garmin dual GPSMAP 8622 displays on Pursuit’s custom dash panel along with JL Audio, Airmar transducer, the added engine controls for triple Yamaha digital 425 XTOs, and more will provide more than enough to get up an running quickly.

If you need a break from all this, head down to the accommodations. The forward island-style queen berth has a memory foam mattress, 32-inch smart TV, tempered glass hull-side windows for plenty of natural light and a private entry into the head. The starboard stateroom also has a memory foam mattress, 32-inch TV, and those glass hull-side windows. The head sports a separate shower compartment along with Corian countertops, marine head, and, you guessed it, those glass hull-side windows. Yes, there are views everywhere.

As I said, there is so much on this new model that you could easily spend long weekends on her doing everything from fishing to hanging at the sandbar to cruising local islands and reefs. The bow has a huge cabana area with sunpad, stereo remote, USB chargers, and a forward-facing bow seat right up front. There is storage everywhere, drink holders everywhere, rod holders, and with a choice of multiple hull colors (my earlier baby blue reference is actually Arctic Blue), optional sport fishing equipment, and electronics, this boat is built for your every command.

Maritimo M60

Maritimo’s Genesis

The new M60 takes the original flybridge motoryacht to a higher level.

To say this yacht has wings isn’t far from the truth. The Maritimo M60 can fly along the water with ease at speeds over ground up to 30 knots. But unless you want to use up your fuel just to go fast, come down to cruise at around 20 knots and not only go the distance, but enjoy the ride on a well-thought-out, newly designed yacht that is built upon the tradition of Maritimo’s very first 60-foot yacht back in 2004, the Maritimo 60.

“Maritimo has stayed focused on shaft-drive propulsion, which provides a combination of improved efficiency, economy, and long-range performance,” says Tom Barry-Cotter, managing director of Maritimo, who spearheaded the design efforts. “The new M60 continues that tradition and has its roots in the very first motoryacht Maritimo produced almost twenty years ago. The M60 epitomizes our commitment to producing long-range cruising motoryachts with superior seakeeping capabilities. The engine position and low shaft angles in our design provide balance and a low center of gravity that help the boat perform in virtually any sea condition.”

Built for the Sea

Barry-Cotter has told us before about Australia’s waters, where Maritimo calls home. “There’s no Intracoastal Waterway. Any sort of boating you do is out in the open ocean. You have to go quite a long way to get to the next port.”

That’s why Maritimo designs its hulls to keep the center of gravity as low as possible. Barry-Cotter pointed out that the variable deadrise hull form has a fine entry that progresses to a flatter dead rise aft, which provides a soft entry and a soft ride, perfect for those the Maritimo was designed for—owners who love to spend a lot of time on the boat. It’s comfortable at all speeds and conditions.

“Maritimo Yachts are built for the way cruisers use them in Australia, which is long-range cruising under the most challenging sea conditions in the world,” says Dave Northrop, president of the Americas for Maritimo. “The Maritimo pedigree translates very well to anywhere boaters want to take them in North American waters. The M60 has our proprietary Monocoque hull that withstands any conditions and is fitted out with the kind of interior and exterior gathering areas that welcome family and friends for extended time aboard.”

Relax and Enjoy

Knowing that the yacht is safe and secure at sea allows the owner and guests to really enjoy the amenities on board, and the design team has gone above and beyond to reimagine the deck spaces, the spacious skylounge, and the interior comfort of the salon and accommodations.

Let’s start with the interior. The ability to move around the yacht freely without having to duck because of low headroom or to navigate too many steps is designed into the M60’s layout. An open, atrium-style companionway allows for natural light to lead you down to a full-beam king ensuite master stateroom midship, a spacious, offset, walkaround queen ensuite stateroom forward, and a twin single guestroom starboard with an option for the inner berth to slide out to create a double berth. There’s even room in the companionway for the optional washer and dryer. Panoramic hull windows also add to the natural lighting.

Speaking of which, the salon and galley are fully surrounded by windows that connect you to the panoramic view, yet there’s the security of being indoors during inclement weather.

The M60’s wide beam makes you feel like you’re in a much bigger vessel. It’s open and comfortable. The forward lounging area has large L-shaped settees on each side, and the galley centers between the salon and the aft cockpit deck, so when the panoramic sliding doors are open, the entire main deck quickly becomes one enormous entertainment suite.

Entertainment is a key element to the M60, and one of the favorite spots is up on the flybridge deck. Here, a perched, 360-degree view takes you to a higher level, especially the captain, as this is home to the helm where captain comforts include two plush, leather seats and a hydraulic helm and joystick system along with the full complement of electronics. The elevated view is advantageous when navigating reefs or coming into dock.

A big couch sits to port for company and a cozy salon area is aft—all enclosed. Open the accordion-style doors to expand the area even more by connecting with the protected outdoor deck space covered by the flybridge hardtop and awning. The enclosed, climate-controlled flybridge is accessible by the internal staircase, another protection from the elements.

Let the Adventure Begin

You’d think all that was enough, but when families or adventurous spirits are involved, there’s nothing like the immense aft deck. At the global launch, Barry-Cotter pointed out that it was owner feedback that prompted Maritimo to create such an area. Owners really enjoy the protection from and the connection to the environment, and when at anchor, the huge cockpit and aft adventure deck have the capability to host a range of entertaining or relaxing activities as well as a platform for snorkeling, diving, paddling, you name it.

Forward-facing seating is molded with an entertainment center that is the focal point between the cockpit and the adventure deck and houses a centerline barbecue, sink, and a refrigeration unit accessible when standing on the aft deck. The walkaround centerpiece has another surprise. It’s the cover for Maritimo’s fully lined garage that can store a 10-foot tender or some personal watercraft models as well as toys, boards, and diving gear. You can have all the toys necessary to explore and play, and if you need more room, there are options to store the tender elsewhere on board, including up on the forward deck with an optional davit or mounted on the adventure deck with the optional hydraulic platform.

Remember the reference to wings? The Maritimo M60 has wings. The signature design was there at the beginning, disappeared in various design phases over the years, and is back. The signature molded “wings” off the superstructure complete a sense of balance and style for the exterior design as well as provide cover when walking the side decks. Incidentally, the wing design allows the superstructure to keep the same beam as that of the main deck, which makes for more room than a conventional, tapered flybridge design. That equates to larger social areas and a more relaxed atmosphere. The use of advanced material technology keeps it lightweight, yet strong, and helps keep the center of gravity down low where it belongs.

Power to Cruise

The hull and engineering are designed to use straight-shaft drive technology with twin Volvo Penta D13 800-mhp engines. Owners can choose the 1,000-mhp option or Scanis Di16 1,150-mhp engines as an upgrade. The shaft angle is a low eight degrees to give more anchorage options, and the 1,200-gallon fuel capacity gives additional destination options. The fuel tanks are set as low as possible in the hull for maximum stability. Hull No. 1 was designed for shoal water, so molded tunnels were incorporated to reduce draft by nearly a foot and give more protection to the six-bladed Nibral propellers and rudders.

On the M60 sea trial, it was noted how there was a light touch to the hydraulic helm and that the hull came to plane easily without using any trim tabs. Although the yacht can reach 30 knots, which will usually get you away from a storm, the hull’s characteristics keep the boat stable and can handle waves without a shudder. But at 30 knots, your range will only be around 371 nautical miles. At cruise (approx. 17 knots), you’ll gain an extra 47 nautical miles.

Barry-Cotter wanted the M60 to be just as special as the Maritimo 60. Pictures speak a thousand words, but nothing quite gives you the full magnitude of M60’s enchanting power as when you step aboard.

Iguana Yachts launches the First Electric Amphibious Boat: the Iguana Foiler

The Iguana Foiler was unveiled for the first time during the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022 last week. Iguana Yachts goes one step further with an innovation that is both groundbreaking and sustainable. Responding to the demand for an electric version of the Iguana from clients, the French shipyard developed a foiling version of its amphibious boat fitted with an electric outboard.Sustainability has always been part of Iguana Yachts DNA. The Iguana is a boat that does not need any heavy infrastructure like ports and docks to be operated. With minimal requisites in logistics, materials, infrastructure and anti-fouling, amphibious boats are overall more environmentally friendly and last longer as they do not stay in the water all-year long. It is a natural development for Iguana Yachts to go for electric propulsion to offer the most sustainable motor-boating experience in the world. The electric amphibious Iguana Foiler is perfect for lakes and seas and offers a very comfortable and dry experience above choppy waves. Iguana clients will have the opportunity to experience the most exclusive and innovative ride ever made: a quiet, powerful and all-terrain 10m boat reaching speeds of 30 knots.

Iguana Yachts has worked with the best French Engineers and Designers to create a vessel that is both extremely efficient and beautiful. Caponnetto-Hueber are worldwide recognized experts in foil design. They have worked on the Iguana Foils design to make it very simple and stable. Foils reduce the drag and the energy consumption by 50%. The surface piercing foils are auto stable when foiling. As the architecture does not require sophisticated software to be controlled, it is a very safe technology. The foils can be folded for manoeuvres in harbours as well as when foils cannot be used in harsh seas. When the foils are folded, the boat works as a normal semi-planing hull. This makes the Iguana Foiler even more versatile and usable in any seas.As for all the other Iguana models, the French designers Fritsch and Durisotti worked on the design of the Iguana foiler to create a beautiful, modern and sleek look. The Iguana Foiler has a bow-rider deck with an all-around windscreen above the console and nice seats on the bow. With lots of space and seating areas, the Iguana Foiler is perfect for smooth rides with family and friends. It was designed to be especially light to fly above water.Iguana Yachts has partnered with the Norwegian company Evoy. The Iguana Foiler is fitted with an electric Evoy 300HP outboard. It offers a blissful quiet ride that is both smooth and better for the environment. The Iguana Foiler has a range of 50 miles and can go up to 30 knots.Like all the other Iguanas, the Foiler is amphibious with foldable tracks. Since 2016, Iguana Yachts has offered electric land mobility with a 400 volts lithium battery. The R&D is well equipped to provide high voltage engineering as well as mechanical and hydraulic challenges. Seaside property owners will now have the opportunity to launch their boat from home and enjoy an electrically powered ride on foils. With a 10-year tried and tested technology, Iguana Yachts is ready for another challenge and to lead the way with sustainable and innovative solutions. Overcrowded marinas, the obsolescence of infrastructure due to sea level rise and the will to reduce CO2 emissions, make the Iguana Foiler perfect for the future of motor-boating.“We are extremely happy to be part of this project as Iguana Yachts has always tried to approach the nautical industry from a different point of view. Bringing the electrical propulsion from Evoy and the foils from Caponnetto Hueber, we believe the Iguana Foiler will not go unnoticed. It will likely become the Swiss knife of the electrical tender industry” – Francis Hueber, Caponnetto Hueber General Manager

Silent 60

Not a Sound

Silent-Yachts is making big strides in solar-electric power both on the water and on shore.

I was standing on the Silent 60 flybridge chatting with another guest prior to leaving the dock for a test ride when we both suddenly realized we were drifting in the middle of the canal. Somewhat alarmed, it was obvious we were off the dock, but there was no sound from any engine, and I didn’t feel any gears shift or remember feeling the lines thrown aboard. I’m usually keen to those sounds having been a captain on various vessels for more than 20 years.

When I went down to the main deck to see if everything was okay, it was clear I forgot I was on the “silent” 60, a new solar-electric catamaran from Silent-Yachts.

I admit I was pretty astonished as we “motored” down the canal and out into Fort Lauderdale’s Intracoastal Waterway. The boat was gliding along silently, and the guests were conversing as if they were in their living room.

So Much Room

Some may shy away from the modern, squared-off look of the Silent 60’s exterior, but there’s no doubt that once aboard, they’ll feel like they’ve stepped into a huge, luxurious waterfront home. Large windows surround the main cabin that is nearly 30-feet wide has more than seven feet of headroom. The open floorplan puts the galley aft, which is actually about midship from bow to stern and, like a home, becomes a central gathering spot. When the salon’s sliders are open, including the window slider along the aft galley countertop, the main deck quickly turns into a large outdoor veranda.

A short set of steps mid-cabin lead down to each hull where owners have options for up to four spacious staterooms with or without a forward main-deck master. In lieu of the main-deck master, a forward access door leads to the bow deck with recessed, balcony-type seating.

Off the aft deck, steps take you to an extended swim platform off each hull. Access to the mechanical space is under the steps. A tender deck hydraulically raises and lowers and after launched, the swim platform extends full beam.

I went back up to the flybridge, now that I knew we were under control and not drifting away with the current. On this sunny, warm day, it was the place to be for that elevated, 360-degree view. A full helm station and a U-shaped settee offer a large, comfortable area to relax, with shade provided by the folding roof. That’s right, the roof folds down to completely cover the flybridge when use will be minimal, such as during an overnight or ocean crossing. Like the entire main-deck roof, it also carries an array of solar panels, the “fuel” for the Silent 60’s power.

Powerful Possibilities

There are three motor options for the Silent 60: Cruiser (twin 50 kW), E-Power (twin 200 kW), and E-Power+ (twin 340 kW) E-motors. The lithium batteries and generator power ratings increase with each as does top speed, with the E-Power+ reaching 13-20 knots.

“In the daytime you could run on full solar, especially on a day like today where it’s a cool breeze and full sun; that’s the best conditions,” says Capt. Kyle Miller, Silent-Yachts’ brand ambassador. He notes that the breeze helps keep the panels cool. “When you do an overnight, yes, you could, theoretically, go along indefinitely, if you’d like to do a very slow speed, but realistically, you’re going to use the batteries. You can spend a day, move around, make food, drinks, spend time in the sun, run the air conditioner; you can do all those things as long as you’re staying in the same general area. We can go up to West Palm or we can go down to Miami today, and I would not have to turn on the generator once.”

But that’s something to note. The Silent 60 has power options designed for its use. If you’re going to cruise along the coast or take the Intracoastal and time isn’t a factor, then the Cruiser power package is perfect, but for those planning on going farther out or on a longer voyage where wind, waves, and currents can push you around, the E-Power+ might be the better choice because it combines the largest battery bank with the strongest electric motors available. You still won’t go much beyond cruise speed, unless you need to outrun an oncoming storm, but as with life, it’s about the ride, not the destination.

Miller also made the point that although batteries are an important part, it’s the solar panels that take the lead. “Battery technology is such a minor component of this,” he says. “Solar panel technology is a way bigger definer for the boating world, so like for cars, battery technology was the most important part, but for boats, you need to produce electric energy. If you doubled solar technology right now, we would have twice the speed and twice the range.”

Land and Sea

Silent-Yachts is also taking its technology to shore. Starting with the idea of a docking station where yachts could be used as floating villas, the concept has grown immensely with Club Ki’ama Bahamas. The development will be the first residence club to offer luxurious solar-powered oceanfront homes with a fleet of Silent solar-powered yachts as well as electric day boats in a protected marina, six private beaches, a beach club, spa, and restaurant for owners. Located on Elizabeth Island, part of Exuma’s island chain, construction began in June, and will leave most of the property’s natural habitat undisturbed.

Silent-Yachts and Silent-Resorts design their yachts and resorts to protect the world’s ecologically sensitive environment while providing luxurious and comfortable spaces to enjoy it.

Experience elegance and exclusivity aboard Tail Lights in the British Virgin Islands

Vacations are meant for grandeur, indulging in luxuries, and experiencing new and unique adventures. As you plan your getaways for the latter half of 2022 and into 2023 and want to find something that stands out and offers a true, one-of-a-kind experience, you’ll find it in spades with a charter journey aboard Tail Lights, the dazzling 116-foot Azimut Grande Motor Yacht.

Accommodations offered by Tail Lights will ensure that you and your company have an unforgettable travel experience, but there is another special treat that is unparalleled—access to the British Virgin Islands (BVIs). There are few U.S.-flagged yachts in the BVIs; however, her owner, along with long-time captain Sean Kampfer, went above and beyond, as they always do, and worked with BVI tourism to create an exceptional cruise in this tropical paradise. In fact, Tail Lights is currently featured in their publication on chartering in the BVIs. This has made this already highly sought-after superyacht even more popular in the global charter community. And it is easy to see why.

She’s a Special Yacht

Tail Lights has room to comfortably accommodate 12 guests in five staterooms (along with two additional Pullman berths), plus crew quarters for six. The owner’s master suite features a private staircase leading to a king-size bed, a self-service bar, and a spacious ensuite with a bathtub and a separate jet rain shower.

This magnificent superyacht also features two VIP suites with queen-size beds and two guest suites, all ensuite with a shower. No matter how many people you bring along, everyone will be comfortable and cared for on board.

Relaxation and entertainment are found in abundance on board this vessel. She comes equipped with top-of-the-line entertainment amenities to help you and your guests stay amazed throughout your trip, including the massive flybridge that features a jacuzzi, a wet bar, beautiful teak seating, table space, lounge chairs, and a covered aft deck that is the perfect spot to sip on a cocktail, read a book, and unwind.

She is also loaded with many different fun toys to explore the water and surrounding islands. Jet skis, sea scooters, wakeboards, snorkel gear, paddleboards, and fishing equipment are all found on board. Capt. Sean and the Tail Lights’ crew will ensure that all guests feel spoiled by endless opportunities.

Why it’s a Unique and Unforgettable Experience

The amenities on board this unrivaled 116-foot Azimut certainly contribute to its lavishness. However, what ultimately sets this chartered experience apart is the dedication of its captain and crew and the ability to go where other charter vessels cannot. Capt. Sean knew that he had to try to make this incomparable experience available to his guests. He went out of his way to create an unforgettable BVIs itinerary with the goal to present guests an enjoyable, blissful journey.

His ties with the local community provide opportunities that are only available to those with immense knowledge of the area and culture. This is why Tail Lights is so highly praised and frequently booked.

If you want to experience this marvel on the sea, you’ll want to book this charter sooner rather than later or risk missing your opportunity. Tail Lights is available for limited dates from October through December 2022. She’s also available towards the end of January 2023, just in time for the Anegada Lobster Festival in February. Swedish category leader continues to make sustainable electric boating a reality for a broader market

Stockholm – Sept. 1, 2022 – X Shore (www.xshore.com), the Swedish technology company behind a game-changing generation of fully-electric, silent, connected boats, announced today the launch of its latest model, the X Shore 1.

Built with X Shore’s latest smart technology, sustainable methods, and clean Scandinavian design, the X Shore 1 enters the market at an attractive and accessible price point, which will generate new and reinvigorated interest in electric boating. The new vessel starts at $139,000, which is around a third of the price of other high-performance electric boat models, whilst not compromising on performance or operational capabilities. The X Shore 1 will be built at X Shore Industries 1 in Nyköping, Sweden, and will be available in two configurations: Top and Open. First orders will be delivered to customers in the second quarter of 2023 and can be ordered via selected partners and on X Shore’s website.

The continued electrification of boating is crucial to support climate change mitigation and a decarbonized global economy. A swift transition to sustainable boating is necessary for global emission reduction targets to be achievable. To enable this transition, X Shore is massively ramping up production capacity and launching the X Shore 1 at a remarkable price point.

Emissions from high-performance fossil-fuelled boats are substantial and from just 50 hours on the water, common 6-10 meter boats can produce emissions comparable to more than 7 roundtrips between New York and central Europe by airplane. Beyond emissions, noise pollution from traditional boating is having a negative effect on the planet. The International Maritime Organisation has found that noise pollution from boats negatively impacts marine life, both short and long-term.

Commenting on the launch of the X Shore 1, X Shore CEO Jenny Keisu, said: “In order to bring electric boating to the largest possible audience, it is essential we bring to market a range of models and options to satisfy the different needs and desires of the global boating community. Crucially, the X Shore 1 enters the market at a remarkably low price point, as we must make electric boating competitive with fossil-fuel boats to speed up the transition. Just as importantly, by launching the X Shore 1, X Shore is hoping to encourage a new generation of boat owners, and show them that electric boating is not just the future, but the present. X Shore craft are already in the hands of customers and we will be delivering the first X Shore 1 boats to customers early next year, building them in our new factory at a rate of two boats per day as capacity expands. We are proud of our Swedish heritage, and the X Shore 1 pays homage to this through an innovative product that is designed with functionality and durability in every step, from production to use and lifetime.”

X Shore was founded on three pillars: design, sustainability, and technology. X Shore has set a course for long-term sustainability that paves the way for a net-zero future through its new technology, innovative research, smart design, and sustainable materials that allow passengers to explore the world’s oceans and lakes without the harmful noise and fumes a fossil-fuel engine emits.

The X Shore 1 has a multitude of core features that make it the ideal vessel for a day (or night) on the water: open transom with in-built swim platform; mesh rail furniture option with central passage; generous deck for sunbathing and leisure; integrated navigation lights in bow rail; cantilevered roof; retractable sun awnings; and water sport capabilities. The X Shore 1 will come in three specifications: Utility, Performance and Premium. The models are bought as seen.

The design of the X Shore 1 results in similar performance to the X Shore Eelex 8000 (www.xshore.com/eelex-8000), all the more impressive as it only has a single battery – reducing the cost for customers, and further reducing its carbon footprint. The size also enables easier transportation to customers, as it comfortably fits inside containers used in global shipping.

X Shore’s in-house production methods, on parts of the boat such as the hull, are industry-leading and deliver high-performance components which use significantly less material. X Shore use a combination of glass fiber and carbon fiber to balance weight, performance and environmental impact. X Shore in-house hull production will be done out of X Shore Industries 1, where the hulls will be produced via prepreg. As a result, the boats are lighter and only require a single 63 kWh battery. Using cork for the hull instead of teak provides further environmental benefits.
