By Peter Frederiksen
The latest addition to the expanding lineup of Viking Yachts’ luxury center console Valhalla fleet is the V-55 Sport Yacht, which made its world debut at the 2025 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Utilizing the SVVT (Stepped-V Ventilated Tunnel) double-stepped hull of its sister ship, the V-55 center console, the Sport Yacht model combines proven performance and blue-water handling with posh and stylish amenities and accommodations for cruising and entertaining. Powered by quad Mercury Verado V12 600-hp outboards, my initial sea trial revealed a top speed in excess of 60 mph. With a 1,100-gallon fuel supply for maximum range, Zipwake automatic trim tabs, electric power steering, joystick convenience, and a SidePower bow thruster, the 55 Sport Yacht checks every box a discerning yachtsman could want and then some.
Enclosed Pilothouse and Advanced Helm Technology
The all-weather climate-controlled pilothouse features a Procurve one-piece glass windshield with impeccable visibility. Form complements function with a raised dash featuring a custom factory-installed navigation package including three Garmin MFDs, yacht system monitors, single lever controls, backlit BocaTech 12V switching, a radio box and a tilt steering wheel. An actuated sliding sunroof with a shade, port and starboard actuated sliding doors for deck access, and a fiberglass module with three helm chairs with armrests and a recessed footrest invite comfort underway. Abaft the helm chairs, an elevated lounge provides guests with a restful perch while providing 360-degree visibility. Hull number one also includes a full-height glass door in the pilothouse rear as well as a power window that opens to the cockpit. With the three doors and aft power window closed, the quietness in the pilothouse, even at top chat, was notable.

Versatile Cockpit Layouts and Entertaining Features
Numerous layouts and options structure the synthetic teak-soled cockpit. Hull number one has a wraparound lounge aft with a teak table, an L-shaped summer kitchen with an electric grill and refrigerator against the pilothouse bulkhead, and a 40-inch HDTV that drops down from the hardtop underside. A Sure Shade telescoping power shade in the hardtop provides overhead protection throughout the cockpit.
Other options include layouts with bar stools, fore and aft facing, and U-shape lounges, and multiple convenience amenities. Living well on the water is easy with this Sport Yacht with its cold and hot freshwater shower and wash down, as well as a port side dive or dockside boarding door, and port and starboard balconies, each offering 25 square feet of usable space for lounging on deck or jumping into the water.
The 15’6” beam is put to good use delivering a spacious and entertaining bow area. The asymmetrical layout features a port-side flush walkway with a convenient grab rail leading to a large sunpad and a wraparound lounge and teak table. It is an easy reach to tend the bow lines and monitor the windlass dropping or retrieving the anchor. The starboard side deck is raised which affords added space and headroom in the cabin entered from a sliding door on the port side of the pilothouse helm.

Engineering Excellence Below Deck
A large hatch with deep gutters in the cockpit exposes a massive mechanical compartment with easy access to the Seakeeper SK10 gyro, a 15 kW generator with a dedicated 60 gallon fuel supply, an ice chipper, house and engine batteries, a desalinator for a constant freshwater supply, a Reverso engine flush, an ElectroSea Clearline anti-foulant system for protecting the raw-water supplied equipment, a three-zone Arid bilge dryer, bilge pumps, and other plumbing. Port and starboard transom swing gates lead to the stern platform for access to the Mercury outboards and a useful trunk compartment in the stern bustle to stow loose gear, dive equipment, and water toys.
Interior Accommodations
Descending the staircase, the 12V and 120V power distribution panels are to port, eye level and aptly labeled for ease of use. Slate gray cabinetry throughout the interior adds an inviting and nautical flair. The dinette and hi-lo table create an extra sofa for guests and are opposite the inline galley with a quartz countertop, a microwave, a stainless-steel sink, drawer style refrigerator/freezer, an Invisacook induction cooktop, and ample stowage. The custom Amtico flooring is carefree and wipes clean easily.
Forward, the master stateroom with a walkaround queen berth with stowage underneath as well as a pair of hanging lockers, offers seven feet of headroom, an HDTV, and a private head and fiberglass shower stall. A second stateroom with a queen berth is amidships featuring end tables, a lounge, an HDTV and a private head and shower. A third stateroom layout also is available, as well as an extensive list of options to customize the V-55 Sport Yacht to the owner’s individual needs and cruising plans. And as with Viking yachts, the Valhalla V-55 Sport Yacht is designed to be delivered turnkey ready.
