Pursuit Sport

The Pursuit Sport series continues to gain momentum with the addition of the S 368, (37′ 11″ LOA, 12′ beam), which joins the S 408 introduced in 2016 and the S 328 (34′ 6″ LOA, 10′ 10″ beam), which debuted in Miami last February and makes its first appearance at FLIBS.

The new luxury center consoles share the Sport series traits: an oversized fiberglass integrated hardtop and windshield system, updated classic sheer line, through-stem anchoring system and integrated transom extensions. The S 368’s cabin includes a fully enclosed head, convertible sofa bench, storage and galley amenities. The S 328 has a double convertible berth and head.
Yahama F300s, twin on the 328 and triple on the 368, power both models to close to 50 mph.

Back Cove 32

The newest model from the Rockland, Maine-based builder, the Back Cove 32 (37′ LOA, 11′ 10″ beam) certainly looks like part of the family with its traditional styling. The cockpit and pilothouse meet on a single level, transitioning seamlessly into the interior, where a galley-up arrangement allows the cook to be part of the action.

Below, the cabin features an island berth and split head and shower. The systems are as straightforward as the classic design. A single diesel engine ensures fuel efficiency, and standard power—a 370-hp Volvo engine—brings the 32 to a 22-knot cruise and 26-knot top speed.

Since opening the doors to its new facility in Tampa, Florida, last year, Bertram has rolled out seven of its latest 35-foot models. At this year’s show, it will display the 35 (35′ 1″ LOA, 12′ 5″ beam) in full sportfishing regalia. The deep-V hull that started it all more than five decades ago is still the cornerstone of the smooth ride, while the flybridge up top is the perfect vantage point to spot the fish. In between are many semi-custom options to design the 35 your way. Thanks to twin 500-hp Caterpillars, the 35 tops out at a swift 40 knots.

Grand Banks 60

Representing Grand Banks’ return to its roots of building long-distance cruisers, the new Grand Banks 60 (66′ 10″ LOA, 19′ 2″ beam) has a range well over 2,000 nautical miles at 10 knots or can be pushed to more than 30 with the 900-hp Volvo Penta D13 engines. Coupling these with the bow and stern thrusters in a joystick-controlled system allows for a really cool feature: Express Positioning, which holds the 60 in place by GPS.

A well-protected flybridge and aft deck, wide side decks and high bulwarks show the boat to be a true ocean-going vessel. A single level encompasses the salon, aft galley, and lower helm. Below are three staterooms with the master in the most comfortable position amidships.

Nordhavn 59 Coastal Pilot

Nordhavn 59 Coastal Pilot

Nordhavn acknowledges that not everyone wants to fish or dive, so its new version of the Nordhavn 59 Coastal Pilot is for those who don’t need a cockpit. Extending the aft and main deck all the way back, the Coastal Pilot has a roomier salon/galley and engine room, which has full standing headroom aft. Water babies will still get their fix of the sea thanks to an integral swim step.

The Nordhavn 59 Coastal Pilot is capable of both fast cruising speeds and extended passagemaking. Powered by twin Cummins QSM 11 715-hp diesel engines, the 59 CP runs up to 20 knots and can cruise more than 1,000 miles at reduced speeds. She offers a modern profile with a contemporary, open interior that emphasizes stainless and horizontal grain accents and radiates light throughout.

Main deck accommodations provide for a large galley, dinette and a lower helm station with double helm seat. This arrangement is very appealing for a coastal cruising couple as it eliminates the isolation and separation of a raised wheelhouse.

Marlow 49E

The Marlow Explorer 49E makes her first appearance at FLIBS after making her world premiere earlier this year at the Miami show. Two staterooms along with a cozy bunk are located at the base of the pilothouse stairs. Artistic design with spatial engineering has produced the largest master stateroom in and around this size range featuring a variety of owner/guest amenities of note. The VIP stateroom features two bunks located above the queen berth on port and starboard. The aft area of the boat is larger, including standing headspace in the engine room, rare for a 55-footer (57’2″ LOA, 17’3″ beam). She draws 4’6″ and has a displacement of 61,600 pounds, with a fuel capacity of 1,000 gallons and a water capacity of 250 gallons. marlowyachts.com

The Marlow-Mainship 34 Express (MM34E) is the newest model to enter into the Mainship line by owner David E. Marlow. She is designed for active cruisers who want an economical boat that is well-designed and well-appointed. In addition, the MM34E (40’3″ LOA, 12’4″ beam) is a stronger, lighter, more fuel-efficient boat due to engineering and technological advances. For example, the MM34E is enhanced with a higher quality gelcoat and resin augmenting her water resistance. Using Nida-Core coring—a polypropylene honeycomb and a stitched fiberglass material—Marlow has designed a more structurally sound hull producing better glass-to-resin ratios, further enriching hull strength and integrity.

The MM34E features a roomy upper salon for entertaining, while her helm area has two seats for the captain and mate. Stepping below into her ample cabin, the roomy portside galley is awash in natural light. To starboard is the head with a divided vanity and shower area. Her forward cabin V-berth with an inner spring mattress and generous storage is similar in size and layout to her larger sister ships. The MM34E is powered by the standard 320-hp Yanmar diesel engine, with optional engine configurations available including twin 220- or 260-hp engines. mainship.com
