Celebrate with a taste of the Caribbean—Nevis, to be exact.
“Rum is a Caribbean staple, and the more you know about your spirit of choice, the better you’ll be at creating your signature rum cocktail,” says Kendie Williams, master mixologist at Four Seasons Resort Nevis.
“When it comes to blending cocktails, a lighter or even a white rum is usually best because the flavors are a lot less intense and tend to blend better when adding fruit purées or other liquors. But there is an exception to every rule, as my bespoke signature cocktail, the Kendie’s Kick, gives a unique Nevisian twist on a classic rum punch by incorporating our very own Crowned Monkey Rum, which can only be found at the Resort, as well as local tamarind and passion fruit purées made with fruit directly from my garden.”
The Kendie’s Kick is lighter than traditional sweet Caribbean rum punch recipes. The sweet aftertaste of the Crowned Monkey Rum balances beautifully with the tart acidity that the tamarind and passion fruit bring to it, making a special fusion of flavor that can only be found in Nevis.

Why Tamarind and Passion Fruit Pair Perfectly With Rum
Tamarind and passion fruit are natural companions to rum because they highlight the spirit’s warm, spiced sweetness while adding layers of bright tropical acidity. Tamarind brings a tangy, slightly earthy depth that balances the richness of darker and spiced rums, while passion fruit adds a fragrant sweetness and citrusy bite that keeps the cocktail refreshing. Together, the two fruits create a vibrant Caribbean flavor profile that enhances rum without overpowering it.
