The Midnight Express 43 Carbon Edition is all carbon fiber.
Although not the first carbon fiber center console by Midnight Express, the 43 Open Carbon Edition that launches this month is a special one. The full carbon-fiber model will have five Mercury outboard motors.
Combine this power with the lightweight construction that saves 2,500 pounds over the previous version, and you have a stiffer hull that punches through rough water at higher top speeds—approximately 8 to 10 mph over her predecessor.
That means it’s possible to nudge 100 mph on this new boat, which is a hair-raising proposition. As with all Midnight Express models, this one is fully customizable with personalized flooring, interior cabin layouts, extra fuel tank capacity, and variable seating options. The Miami-based builder offers models 34 to 60 feet in length, and if you want to be noticed when you arrive, a fully carbon center console on steroids is not a bad way to go.
The new Midnight Express 34 Sportfish Tender (34′ LOA, 11′ beam) is designed for fuel efficiency, onboard comfort and high performance. Her 11-foot beam provides stability and a large amount of space without compromising efficiency and speed. The boat’s hull and deck are fully infused and cored to reduce weight while improving strength, which results in higher cruising fuel economy.
The 34′ Sportfish/Tender tops 60 mph with twin 300-hp outboards and has a cruising range of 350 miles at 35 mph. A proprietary bow design offers a significantly drier and more comfortable ride. midnightboats.com
Conceived with performance and efficiency in mind, Midnight Express’ Quintessence43 was named for its groundbreaking five 400-horsepower Mercury racing outboard engines set up with surfacing props and Sport-Master drives. By launching Quintessence43 in June, Midnight Express has extended its engineering acumen, reinventing the performance experience of its five-engine boats—the company introduced its five-engine outboard designs in 2007—with its two-lever control system, the ErgoEngine Control. The design, and having only two levers to maneuver, allows for simplified operations with speeds that can exceed 190 mph (78+ knots). This turnkey solution for advanced five-engine control offers an additional bonus: it takes just one key to start all five engines.

Quintessence43 features a true twin-stepped hull, which produces minimal bow rise to get on plane. It’s built with Midnight Express’ exclusive infusion-molded and cored structure across the entire boat, allowing for a lighter, faster, stronger, and fuel-efficient boat. It offers a 100 percent carbon fiber dive door with an integrated ladder, carbon fiber-infused hardtop, and a fully digital control system powered with Garmin touch screens. The entire system is operated with wireless remotes to enable selecting different lighting modes and to turn the battery switches on and off without climbing into tight spaces.
