Cruisers Yachts takes flight with the new 57 FLY.
World-class motoryachts with luxurious appointments, dayboats that focus on adventurous performance, all with American-made innovation and materials, has made Cruisers Yachts a force in the boatbuilding industry. The Cantius and GLS Series have given owners a wonderful platform to cruise up and down the coast or hang on the sandbar. The 70-plus years of design and manufacturing evolution that have refined Cruisers’ yachts has made it possible to create a new lineup with more areas to enjoy the outdoors, the FLY Series.

The 57 FLY is the first in the new series with a design based on the flybridge. Yes, they did add a flybridge to the Cantius 54 and 60 models, but this new series is developed strictly as a flybridge model. “This is a FLY series that was developed as a FLY series from day one,” says Matt VanGrunsven, director of marketing for Cruisers Yachts. “So, we didn’t take, like our fifty Cantius, for example, and then put a flybridge on it. This was designed for the flybridge, so we took a different approach than what we had previously.”
It’s an entirely new design with comfortably spacious entertainment, lounging, and accommodation areas fit for any occasion. “It’s a bottom-up new design,” adds VanGrunsven. Starting with a brand-new hull, “it’s wider, actually wider than our sixty flybridge right now by six inches, so we have that extra beam. …The interior design was by Luiz de Basto (DeBasto Designs), so it has that superyacht, megayacht feel, and the exterior profile was done internally by our Cruisers Yachts team in conjunction with DLBA Naval Architects.”
In Style
The 57 FLY has a well-balanced profile with its sleek lines and striking silhouette. With Cruisers’ intense attention to detail, the 57 FLY is turning heads. Expansive windows, an open-concept layout, and panoramic views come together to create a seamless indoor-outdoor living experience desired by today’s yachties.
“We’re excited that the world can finally see the 57 FLY in action,” said Mark Pedersen, president of Cruisers Yachts. “This flagship model is a bold statement of our commitment to craftsmanship and innovation. It’s more than a yacht; it’s a new standard for luxury and performance on the water. We’re just getting started, and the future holds even more exciting developments.”

Starting from the bottom up, the advanced hull design reduces fuel consumption, and with the full beam extending to the chine, there is much more volume for interior spaces. Luxurious accommodations include three spacious staterooms with two heads. Wide steps from the main deck are easy to navigate, especially with the open atrium-style stairway that provides plenty of natural light.
Large windows in all the cabins keep them naturally lit during the day, and there’s an abundance of storage and closet space in each. Yes, all the cabins also have interior lighting. Additionally, the forward VIP cabin has three skylight windows with blinds, the center one being a hatch as well. There’s lots of room to move around due to a centerline queen berth, and a 32-inch TV and stereo are on the facing wall. A separate access to the day head on the port side avoids having to go out into the hall.
Across from the day head on the starboard side is the guest cabin and because the 57 has a wider beam, the design team was able to have two twin berths instead of bunks. It also has a 32-inch TV with stereo controls on the facing wall.
Walking around the stairs to the aft master suite, an optional 23-bottle wine cooler fits nicely in the wall on the starboard side (to our left when walking into the cabin) past the door. The master head is to port. The full-beam master has plenty of room to include a centerline queen berth, dinette seating with table on the starboard side, drawer storage with counter space on the port side, and a 32-inch TV and stereo on the facing wall. Hidden to the starboard side of the TV is a washer/dryer combo, which is a standard feature. Large, fixed-glass windows not only let in a lot of natural light, but also have portholes for some fresh air when at anchor.
Comfortable Spaces
The accommodations are very clean, roomy, and comfortable. The same holds true up in the salon. At first glance, the settees, both in the salon and cockpit, look very stiff, but are surprisingly soft and comfy. That’s accomplished after a lot of testing, says VanGrunsven. “If you go into our engineering office, they have all these sofas that we made in-house. They want people to sit on them because it’s all different, thicknesses of cushion, different materials, different bases, all to try and make it as comfortable as we can.”
A huge U-shaped sofa is to port and a long sofa behind the double-wide helm seat to starboard brings comfort to the salon. The full L-shaped galley is aft to port with a double basin sink, dishwasher, microwave with convection oven, and two-burner stove. On the starboard side, it’s all about refrigeration with 12.6 cubic feet of options for combo fridge/freezers or one or the other. On top of that, there’s plenty of counter space on both sides.

There are some really cool features at this point. First, the main deck cabin is surrounded by incredibly large windows for an unobstructed 360-degree view. The aft cabin door effortlessly folds open to combine the salon and the cockpit into an extended, one-level indoor/outdoor living area. The cockpit has a forward-facing U-shaped transom settee with table for outdoor seating under the flybridge hardtop overhang.
The other cool feature is the side window along the galley. It raises and lowers into the bulkhead so when the port veranda deck is lowered and two stools are secured, the galley counter acts as a service bar and allows guests to chat with the chef and others inside.
Enjoy the Outdoors
From the cockpit, access to the flybridge and the swim platform are on the starboard side. The hi-lo swim platform is enormous with the ability to carry a tender. The area is also the access point to the storage room (or optional crew quarters) that has a convenient day head. In addition, the swim platform has a hidden bonus. “There’s a transom lounge seat that folds out so you can relax while sunning or watching those diving, swimming, using the Jet Ski, or Seabob,” says VanGrunsven. “You have plenty of room, but you also have your day head for all of your water activities through either the crew quarters or the standard compartment.”
Up on the massive flybridge, well, the pièce de résistance has room for 12, and all the amenities for entertaining are there. “You have your full wet bar with full refrigerator, icemaker, sink, and then the Texas-style grill,” he adds. A full helm station lets the captain join the party too.
The bow is also a great place for coffee at sunrise and cocktails at sunset with seatbacks and table setup. The backrest lies flat for sunning, but there’s also an optional sunshade to keep out of the sun but remain in the fresh air.
At the helm, dual 16-inch Garmin displays are standard as is the sonar, radar, VHF, and Volvo’s joystick and DPS system that are tied in with the twin 725-hp Volvo Penta D11 IPS 950 inboard engines. To add to the 57 FLY’s comfort level, a generator with sound shield and Seakeeper 9 stabilizer are standard.
Cruisers Yachts 57 FLY is next level in the company’s fleet. From the comfort of the accommodations to the fresh, open-air deck areas to cruising up to 250 miles before refueling, this reimagined cruising yacht is ready to fly.
