BONHEUR is an outstanding late-model member of the highly regarded class of Surfhunter 32 Express Cruisers designed by Ray Hunt Design and built by Hunt Yachts in Rhode Island. The boat features a pair of highly desirable and sought after Mercury Verado V-8 outboard motors paired with a state-of-the-art joystick control with “Skyhook” for GPS station keeping. With only 120 hours as of September 2025, the motors have just been professionally serviced with compression tests performed to confirm top operating condition. While most of us are looking to avoid rough water these days, the Surfhunter is famous for dancing right through it with a dry ride that must be experienced to be believed. With plenty of seating both in the cockpit and under the hardtop, there is room for three couples to ride in comfort while it is not uncommon at all to see a mix of ten aboard for a day. The unusually large ensuite head with shower is perfect for the primarily day-use the boat is designed for while the galley and generous Vee-berth with filler below are perfect for a couple to overnight with.

The generous L-settee to port (which can be easily removed for cargo carrying or fishing trips) works well with the transom door to starboard.  Self-bailing/draining with a gutter for easy quick cleaning.

Cabinet amenity strategically located on the back of the pilothouse L-settee on centerline with Corian shelf and teak accents with cupholders on top, drawers inside and wine-bottle depth ice chest. Large stainless handrail also included on this purpose-built and nicely sculpted amenity. 

The pilothouse area under the protection of the hardtop features an elevated L-settee (with fold-down footrests) to port with storage beneath and a pair of XR pedestal chairs with lifting bolsters are located forward. These chairs were specifically designed for the Surfhunter 29/32 and are a dynamite addition to the boat. The teak trimmed “glove box” is to port of the companionway- varnished teak and louvered bi-fold doors (for ventilation) and a teak and Lexan bi-fold hatch. The custom helm console on BONHEUR is tops, with great sightlines forward, plenty of room for an oversized GPS plotter with sounder and radar and all the rest of the instrumentation for safe operation including bilge pump switches, windlass remote, high-water alarm etc. Forward facing ‘classic station wagon’ opening side vent windshield windows, opening hatches in the hardtop (x2) and zip-open side curtains provide plenty of ventilation. 

Functional galley, oversized ensuite head with shower and large V-berth with filler converts to oversized double berth with padded bolsters and shelving outboard. Storage lockers beneath berths.
