Le Boat Cruise – Last Day: Treviso

Yesterday was our last day in Italy, we headed back to the Le Boat base in Casier and emptied out our houseboat. It was bitter sweet for all of us. It was such a beautiful trip and a spectacular way to see Venice but it is time to go home.
But the trip is not quite over yet just because we are off the boat.

Watermill in Treviso

There is a picturesque little town nearby called Treviso. We left our bags at Le Boat and had a taxi take us to spend the day there. We walked around, visited the duomo, did a little window shopping (there are many unique stores with great gift items such as handmade candy and food items) and had a beautiful lunch right by the river. The items on the menu were very typical of the region, lots of dishes with deliscious mushrooms and all kinds of fresh seafood. The restaurant is Del Bana Buranelli, and the woman running the restaurant is fantastic, we were enjoying our lunch so much, we sat and talked and laughed and were eventually the last ones left. It was clear the woman had much to do, she was behind a window washing dishes, preparing the plates, taking orders, it was a one woman show. So when the time came that her work was done, she very kindly told us that we could stay as long as we like, but she was going to take a nap.
Needless to say it was a lovely afternoon. And our lovely after noon was followed by another lovely meal, the first steak house of the trip, housed a large open patio with an outdoor brick oven. The Titian Aiport Inn will guide you to the restaurant.
