There’s none better than the folks in Puerto Rico when it comes to throwing a party. Their graciousness and hospitality are incredible. Now add to this the excitement of a diamond anniversary celebration of a world- renowned fishing tournament, and Club Náutico de San Juan’s International Billfish Tournament (IBT)—set for September 15 to 21—is definitely one to see, especially considering how easy it is for visiting anglers to compete. There’s no need to BYOB (bring your own boat). Visitors simply pay an $1,850 per person registration fee, then fly in and fish on one of the Club’s armada of more than thirty 60-plus-foot fully equipped, air conditioned sportfishing vessels on each of the four days of the tournament. What makes fishing the IBT so competitive? It’s the billfish bite!
