Spring tours are plentiful in the south and particularly beautiful this time of year, especially along the waterways. Head to Georgetown, South Carolina, for the 66th Prince George Winyah Bay Plantation Tours, March 22-23. The self-guided tours include pre-Revolutionary churches and privately-owned townhomes and plantations. The old plantations, by their nature, were built along waterways like the Black River and Winyah Bay, which were keys to the abundant rice culture in the Georgetown area. There are generally 20 sites open for viewing with different locations available each day.
