ChronGlobal, a Miami Beach-based company has just launched a one-of-a-kind application for the iPhone and if you have a boat, you’ll want to get this in your palm.

ChronGlobal’s app includes real-time monitoring of the tides via a sophisticated, virtual wristwatch featuring the current level of worldwide tides, along with lunar and solar position at the user’s location.

“What started off as a pet project, turned into a major undertaking,” stated inventor and CEO, Ira Kriëger. “Working with our team of PhDs, it took us nine long months to develop this application. It’s based on my original tide watch for Kriëger Watch Corporation. But I have taken it a step further and built a database of 9,400 reporting tide stations around the world. It’s a must-have app for open-water enthusiasts.”

Set in a very luxurious Swiss watch display, the app’s easy to use interface provides a host of features and options. Users are able to view current tide levels based on their GPS location, or view automatically retrieved tidal information for any of the app’s more than 9400 worldwide tidal stations. Users are able to save their favorite stations for fast retrieval and can swipe to tides for subsequent days. If you set the tracking to an optional location and in a different time zone, you can follow the tide in that optional port in local time or the station time. Also, the lunar movements really help with those who fish and hunt according to the Solunar philosophy.

Sun and moon phases and relative positions have their own, dedicated watch faces but a compilation of all desired information can be viewed on one convenient screen. All of these offerings, combined with the gorgeous display and data accuracy, has rocketed ChronGlobal Tidal Chronoscope to the Number One position in the Apple App Store’s “New & Noteworthy” Navigation category in less than a week.
