Contender 39LS

Dual-stepped hull
improves performance
and fuel economy 

Contender Boats knows customers appreciate choices, so the Homestead, Fla.-based manufacturer is offering the choice of a dual-stepped hull or conventional deep-V hull on its new Contender 39LS (Luxury Sport). The 39LS was first introduced at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show last October and is largest boat in the Luxury Sport line. At the Miami International Boat Show, the 35LS and 32LS models were introduced.

The 39LS’s power options range from twin Yamaha 300-horsepower four-stroke outboards to triple Yamaha 350-horsepower four-stroke outboards. With the triple Yamaha 300 setup the boat runs to a top speed of 65.1 mph at 5950 rpm, and cruises at 29.8 mph at 3000 rpm, burning 1.46 gallons per hour. MRSP of the 39LS with the Yamaha 350s is $342,291.

“The Contender 39LS has the ability to impress hardcore fishermen and demanding cruisers alike,” said Les Stewart, director of marketing. “The dual-stepped-hull platform improves the 39LS’s operating efficiencies by an average of 18 percent while boosting overall performance by 10 percent.”

The LS series offers a wealth of standard accessories, including a side-entry console with a head, shower, teak flooring, window in the console and manufactured granite sink. The 39-footer also features a custom entertainment center with adjustable helm seating that includes a refrigerator, grill, sink, manufactured granite top, three-drawer storage system and a trash bin. More standard accessories include forward seating with a three-position electric lift table that can recess all the way to the floor for fishing, as well as to stop midway to create a sunpad.

Aft, a removable rear settee with a table offers a great place to relax for lunch. The boat also comes with an anchor chute with anchor and windlass, console windshield, shore power with battery charger, custom switch panel and wiring, custom steering helm/pod and a custom hard top that can be-color matched to your hull.
