Underwater Lights
offers new LEP
plasma technology
New light emitting plasma (LEP) technology from Underwater Lights USA is the latest in underwater boat lighting. A single LEP mounted on the transom of a 50-foot trawler will proved 23,000 lumens, and offer more than 30,000 hours of life. The LEP’s target market is a 40- or 50-footer up to megayachts.

Cost of an LEP is approximately $3,500. The LEP emits light from a single source, unlike LEDs where your need multiple diodes or metal halide where a large lamp source is required. A 140-degree wide light beam angle allows for linear underwater lighting with the correction installation placement.
The LEP supplies consistent light intensity through the entire light spread with no hot spots or dark areas, and the light is dimmable to 20 percent of full brightness in a fraction of a second. The system is configured for use with a digital network controlled on board or with analog dimmers.
There is also a short light turn-on time of 40 seconds with a two-minute re-strike, and all maintenance is from inside the hull.
